Central Aid, A
Trailblazer in the
Non-Profit Space
Central Aid was inaugurated in December 1988 by Rev. Dr. Mensa
Otabil as an agency of the church to oer financial assistance to
brilliant but needy Ghanaians for their secondary, technical and
vocational education.
The establishment of the Foundation was very timely, for it set the tone for the church to have a structured approach to its social support initiatives.
In addition to the financial assistance programme, the mandate of Central Aid was expanded in 1996 to include social and community development projects, relief services, and career guidance and counselling for the youth. For several decades since its establishment, many lives have been touched and beneficiaries continue to testify about the life changing experiences they have had with the organization.

What Our Past Beneficiaries Are Saying
“I was living with my uncle who was a chief and he wanted to involve me in the performance of some rituals. I refused and had to leave.”
“In 1993, things became very dicult for me and my education began to suer. I badly needed a miracle. Just about that time, I got introduced to the Central Aid and applied for it. I was so excited when I was granted the scholarship.”
